About Safety Minutes:

Safety Minutes are a One to two minute presentation on a relevant safety topic of choice at the beginning of a presentation. When making yours, Consider safety issues you might encounter in your lab and select one that interests you. Discuss why the issue is important and what practices, PPE, and equipment can be used to minimize risk. Example topics include choosing appropriate types of gloves, how to safely handle gas cylinders, etc. Computational and chem ed students are encouraged to think outside the box! (Ergonomics, surge protectors, and space heaters are a few previously used ideas).
